Marathon Week Schedule

The 2025 TCS London Marathon, on Sunday 27 April, is now just nine days away. Below are some key updates, reminders and schedules ahead of Marathon Week.

Wednesday 23 April

10:00: Opening of the 2025 TCS London Marathon Running Show – ExCeL London (One Western Gateway, London E16 1XL) 

All participants registered for this year’s event must come to the Running Show to collect their running bib. 

The newest recipients of the Spirit of the London Marathon Award will be opening the Running Show, alongside participants from Pancreatic Cancer UK, the official 2025 TCS London Marathon Charity of the Year. 

The Spirit of the London Marathon Award winners in attendance will be Milly Pickles, Nathaniel Dye, Anthony Bryan and Lloyd Martin.

Friday 25 April 

2026 TCS London Marathon Ballot Launch 

The 2026 TCS London Marathon Ballot will be opened as part of a spectacular immersive digital display at  the Outernet on Friday 25 April 2025. 

Participants and supporters from the past 44 London Marathons are invited to share selfies and photos from their Marathon Day experience for a chance to see them displayed at the world’s largest collection of screens at The NOW Building, Outernet, by Tottenham Court Road on Friday 25 April.

To be part of this digital exhibition, participants and supporters are asked to share their photos on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #MyLondonMarathon. 

The Outernet display will be open to the public from 09:00 to 17:00 on Friday 25 April. 

The ballot will remain open until Friday 2 May 2025. It is a completely random draw, just like the National Lottery. The results will be announced by early July.

Saturday 26 April

08:30-15:45: TCS Mini London Marathon – St James’s Park 

More than 18,000 children and young people are registered to take part in the 40th Mini London Marathon. Participants will take part in one mile and 2.6K events around St James’s Park, finishing at the iconic TCS London Marathon Finish Line on The Mall. 

A host of Mini Marathon alumni will join celebrations on the day when they take part in a special 40th wave. Those taking part include:

  • Hannah Cockroft – nine-time Paralympic champion
  • Lauren Rowles – three-time Paralympic champion rower
  • Perri Shakes-Drayton - former Great Britain hurdle and relay star
  • Non Stanford – defending Europe Triathlon Championships gold medallist (and three-time winner of the Mini London Marathon)

Joe Wicks will be attending as a supporter of the event’s charity partner, WWF-UK. 

For the first time, the TCS Mini London Marathon will be streamed live on iPlayer from 08:25 to 10:30, with Rick Edwards and Swarzy Macaly presenting.

Sunday 27 April

The 2025 TCS London Marathon 

The 2025 TCS London Marathon – the 45th edition – will have three start areas (Red, Blue and Pink – formerly known as the Green Start) at Greenwich and Blackheath. The Finish will be on The Mall. 

Start times are as follows: 

08:50: Elite wheelchair races start 

09:05: Elite women’s race start 

09:35: Elite men and masses start 

For accredited media, there will be a working media centre at the Finish.  

The race will be screened live in the UK by BBC. Transmission times are: 

BBC One live from 08:30 to 14:00 

BBC Two live from 14:00 to 15:00  

ACCREDITATION

Applications for media accreditation for the 2025 TCS London Marathon have now closed. Media who have applied will receive status notifications this week. If you applied and have not received a response, please email the Accreditation team.

ELITE FIELD UPDATES

Key updates since the elite field announcements are Emile Cairess (GBR), fourth in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games marathon, has withdrawn due to injury while the TCS London Marathon will incorporate the UK Athletics marathon championships this year and until 2027.

MASS EVENT STATS AND STORIES

Former professional footballers Jack Wilshere, John Terry and Natasha Dowie, Olympian Sir Jason Kenny, comedian Romesh Ranganathan, singer and actor Alexandra Burke and TV personality Kelly Brook are among the famous faces taking part.

The 2025 TCS London Marathon Charity of the Year is Pancreatic Cancer UK. Among their participants this year is Emmerdale’s Tony Audenshaw, who has played Bob Hope for 25 years in the long-running ITV soap. He will be taking part in memory of his wife, Ruth, who died of pancreatic cancer

There will be 17 MPs, from across the political divide, taking part in the 2025 TCS London Marathon with 10 making their debuts

This year, 152 participants will celebrate their birthday on Marathon Day. 

The youngest participant is Lucy Jones who turns 18 on Marathon Day, while the oldest participants are 84-year-old Mohan Kudchadker and 83-year-old Mary Jo Brinkman, who are both travelling over from the US for this year’s TCS London Marathon. The youngest male participant is Callum Smillie who celebrates his 18th birthday three days before the event.
