Inspire the next generation
Every school in London is eligible to apply for two guaranteed staff places in the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon.
Run The Double and inspire more children and young people to be active.
Each eligible school will be contacted by email from 12 October with details of how to claim its places.
If you're interested in applying, please check with your school's office staff from this date. Emails will be sent either to the named Headteacher (where this information is available) or to the school's general office email address, such as admin@ or office@.
The email will be sent from [email protected].
Applications must be submitted by 16:00 on 5 November.
Once applications close, all submissions will be reviewed for eligibility. Successful applicants will then receive a registration link to confirm their place.
To secure their entry, participants must complete their registration and pay the £79.99 entry fee by 16:00 on 3 December.
All places are strictly for Saturday 24 April. They cannot be transferred to Sunday 25 April or deferred for use in subsequent years.

What are the eligibility criteria for London Schools?
Each eligible school must be a registered and open school establishment with a unique URN and be included in the GIAS database. The school must be within the local authority area of the 33 London Boroughs. The full list is viewable as a PDF.
How many places can the school claim?
A maximum of two places for each school. If multiple places beyond this number are claimed then the places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can schools outside London claim the places?
No. Only schools in London can claim the places.
What is meant by ‘school staff’?
Anyone who is employed or contracted to work at the school. The aim is for these places to inspire the children and young people in the school to be active.
Can schools give places to parents or carers?
If they are employed or contracted to work at the school then they are eligible. Otherwise, places should not be gifted to parents or carers or any other group.
Can participants swap the place if the member of staff gets injured?
Once the participant has registered and paid for the place they are unable to defer or transfer the place.
Can the places be deferred to 2028?
No. The places are only for the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon on Saturday 24 April.
What should I do if my school hasn’t received any information?
If your school hasn’t received the email, please check spam or junk folders for an email from [email protected]. If you are unable to locate the email, please contact our Customer Engagement team.
