Vaseline has today been confirmed as the Official Nipple Protector of the TCS London Marathon – a partnership that will tackle one of the most dreaded side-effects of endurance events: nipple chafing.
With marathon participation continuing to rise, thousands of participants each year experience painful skin irritation caused by hours of repetitive movement - a problem widely recognised within the exercise community but rarely discussed openly. Chafed skin in sensitive areas is a problem many TCS London Marathon participants will have to consider ahead of this year’s Event Day on Sunday 26 April and Vaseline ensures participants can focus on performance, not pain.
As the Official Nipple Protector of the TCS London Marathon, Vaseline will help participants prepare by offering its iconic Vaseline Jelly products at the TCS London Marathon Running Show, taking place between Wednesday 22 April and Saturday 25 April.
On marathon day itself, Vaseline products will also be available on the course, helping participants stay comfortable and protected throughout the 26.2-mile challenge.
Nathalia Amadeu, Global Brand Director Vaseline, said: “For decades, participants have relied on Vaseline Jelly to help protect their skin from friction during long-distance runs. As more people take on endurance events like the TCS London Marathon, we’re proud to spotlight this simple, verified solution and support runners in staying comfortable on marathon day.”
Hugh Brasher, CEO of London Marathon Events, said: “Anyone who has taken part in an endurance event like the TCS London Marathon will be aware of the threat of chafing to sensitive areas of skin, which is why we are delighted to welcome Vaseline as the Official Nipple Protector of the TCS London Marathon.”
The partnership between Vaseline and the TCS London Marathon has been agreed for one year. The 2026 TCS London Marathon takes place on Sunday 26 April.
