Partnership with Swiss luxury watchmaker extended to 2023 London Marathon
London Marathon Events (LME) today announced the renewal of its partnership with TAG Heuer, the Swiss luxury watch brand, from 2021 to 2023. TAG Heuer has been Official Timekeeper of the London Marathon since 2016.
Hugh Brasher, Event Director of the London Marathon, said: “We are delighted to confirm TAG Heuer as the Official Timekeeper of the London Marathon through to 2023. We are proud of our great relationship with TAG Heuer which dates from 2016 and is based on our mutual commitment to excellence and a desire to constantly seek improvements and innovations. We are looking forward to developing our partnership further in the years to come.”
The 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon takes place on Sunday 3 October and will feature up to 50,000 runners on the traditional route from Greenwich to the famous finish on The Mall and up to 50,000 runners in the virtual event, where participants complete the 26.2 miles on the course of the choice anywhere in the world between 00:00 – 23:59:59 BST.
Renowned for its legacy of timekeeping precision and racing spirit, TAG Heuer’s technological innovations have kept pace with the evolution of sports since 1860. The ultimate reference in luxury chronograph watches, TAG Heuer is committed to the world of sport, having created the world’s most accurate timing instruments and achieving an accuracy of 5/10,000ths of a second.
TAG Heuer will once again ensure that all participants – whether taking part in the traditional mass or virtual race – are connected as they strive for greatness in the Virgin Money London Marathon. All runners, no matter where they chose to run the famous 26.2-mile distance, will have the opportunity to share their own ‘finish line selfie’, which will include their official event time provided by TAG Heuer. This function will be available via the Official Virgin Money London Marathon App, powered by TCS.
