48 Hours in Brighton: Your weekend travel guide

Here's how to make the most of your weekend in this vibrant seaside city.

Whether you're taking part in the Brighton Marathon Weekend or cheering someone on, Brighton and Hove offer the perfect mix of movement, relaxation and coastal charm.

Turn your event weekend into a mini adventure with the six top tips below.

Start with a parkrun

Brighton and Hove parkrun takes place in north Hove and offers a classic 5K route around the green space of Hove Park. If you’d prefer to be beside the seaside, head to Hove Promenade parkrun, where you’re guaranteed coastal views and salty air. Further east, head to Preston Park parkrun – where the Brighton Miles and Brighton Marathon start! – for a flat route around the park. For an event a little further out of town, East Brighton parkrun is the perfect place for a leafy 5K followed by a post-run coffee in the popular East Park Cafe.

Or stretch your legs on local trails

Perched high above Brighton on the South Downs, Ditchling Beacon offers breathtaking views and a peaceful escape to nature. As one of the highest points in East Sussex, it’s a great spot if you’re seeking wide open skies, rolling hills and a sense of calm a world away from the bustle of Brighton.
