The Big Half is London’s community half marathon
First held in 2018, The Big Half was launched with the ambition to create a mass participation event that was truly reflective of London and the communities that make the city so unique. Held over the course of one day, this festival of running aims to inspire runners of all backgrounds to enjoy the benefits of running and to celebrate and represent London’s diverse population. The 2025 edition will take place on Sunday 7 September.
The Big Half: The centrepiece of the event is a half-marathon held on a course that starts near Tower Bridge and finishes at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. Elite races, featuring some of the best British long-distance athletes, are followed by the popular mass participation event.
The New Balance Big Relay: A team event that allows groups of four to split the half marathon distance into four legs of around 5K each and complete it as a relay team.
The Big Mile: A free one-mile event for all ages and abilities that is held on the finishing stretch of The Big Half.
