2025 Swim Serpentine The Course

The route

Overview

Before Swim Day, familiarise yourself with the route

Everyone swims clockwise around large inflatable buoys marking the route from start to finish. At each end, four big pink buoys signal a 180-degree turn. Faster swimmers can overtake by staying close to the turning buoys, while smaller red buoys guide more relaxed swimmers around a wider turning path.

Changing facilities

There are male, female and non-binary changing facilities before the Start Area (dry change) and after the Finish (wet change). Once you’ve changed, you can drop off your kitbag.

Toilets

Toilets are available at the Start and Finish Area.

If you have a bladder or bowel condition, register for a Just Can’t Wait Toilet Card. It’s issued by the Bladder and Bowel Community and explains that you need urgent access. There are bladder pads at the Information Points and Drinks Stations.

There are tampons and sanitary towels at the Information Point.

Water

Bottled water will be provided after your swim and concessions stands will be available if you’d like to buy any other drinks or food. If you have a bottle in your kitbag, you’ll also find a water refill point.

Need a moment?

Please use the Sensory Calm Space, if you need to take a moment away from the crowds. There will also be a Parent and Child Space and a Multi Faith Prayer Space that is open to all. These will be located in the Festival Area at Swim Serpentine.

Are you cycling to the event?

There is a bike park on site available on a first-come, first-served basis.
