A swimmer shot from water level in front of the Serpentine bridge

Participants with Disabilities

What we do

Our dedicated team supports people with a range of disabilities

You do not need to enter a specific wave at the event to receive support.

We've included a number of measures to help swimmers who require assistance to feel safe and confident at the event, including:

  • a ramped entrance into and exit out of the Serpentine
  • assistance with entering and exiting the water
  • accessible toilets and changing facilities

Get in touch

On Event Day, you will have access to the following support

Just Can't Wait Toilet Card

If you have a bladder or bowel condition, a Just Can’t Wait Toilet Card explains you have a medical condition and need urgent access to a toilet. If you have the card handy, you can show it to whoever is at the front of the queue. The card is issued by the Bladder and Bowel Community and can be downloaded for free. From that page, you can also purchase a plastic card. There are also bladder pads at the event Information Points and Drinks Stations.

Mobiloos

We use RevoLOOtion Mobiloos at our events. The toilet and changing facility is manned and available for disabled participants.

If your period falls on Event Day, you can find tampons and pads at the info points and drink stations.

Sensory Calm Space

We have a Sensory Calm Space, for anyone who wants to take a moment away from the crowds, and a Multi-Faith Prayer Space.

Accessible toilets

These will be available in the Start and Finish areas and the course.

Tampons and sanitary towels

There are tampons and sanitary towels at the Information Points and Drinks Stations.
