Water updates
In the lead-up to Swim Serpentine, we regularly test the water quality and temperature at different locations of the route.
Please find the latest results below:
19 September: The water temperature at midday was 17°C
18 September: The water temperature at midday was 16.9°C.
Test results from 18 September continue to show the water quality to be good/very good in places, and the blue-green algae levels continue to decrease, remaining significantly below the World Triathlon limit.
17 September: The water temperature at midday was 16.4°C.
Test results from 17 September continue to show the water quality to be good/very good in places, and the blue-green algae levels continue to be significantly below the World Triathlon limit.
16 September: The water temperature at midday was 16.7°C.
Test results from 15 September show the water quality is good/very good in places close to the swim route. A low to moderate level of blue-green algae, which is typically found in the lake during the summer, was detected in one of the two samples near the water’s edge, at significantly below the World Triathlon limit. Our modelling suggests this will decrease as the week progresses.
15 September: The water temperature at midday was 17.7°C.
9 September: The water temperature at 15:00 was 19.9°C.
5 September: The water temperature at 08:01 on was 18.4°C. This followed a high temperature on Thursday 4 September of 19.5°C.
