In the lead-up to Swim Serpentine, we regularly test the water quality and temperature at different locations of the route.
We’re pleased to say that both the water quality and temperature are currently looking good, and we look forward to welcoming you to Swim Serpentine on Saturday 19 September.
Water temperature updates:
9 September: The water temperature at midday was 19 degrees.
Water quality updates below:
Micro-biology test results from Wednesday 2 September show the water quality is Excellent in places close to the swim route. A low to moderate level of blue-green algae, which is typically found in the lake during the summer, was detected in one of the two samples near the water’s edge, at significantly below the World Health Organisation (WHO) limit. Our modelling suggests this will decrease over the coming days with increased rainfall expected. We will continue to test in the lead up to the event.
You can find more information on blue-green algae here.
