Standard Chartered Great City Race runners

Start Fundraising

The official race beneficiary of the Standard Chartered Great City Race is the Standard Chartered Foundation.

One third of every Standard Chartered Great City Race entry fee will be donated to The Standard Chartered Foundation, to support under-served young people around the world into jobs.

The Foundation has helped to enable over 100,000 jobs (with more than half of these for women) and is now scaling their ambition, leveraging its expertise to identify forward-thinking solutions, and building transformative partnerships and ecosystems to create opportunities for young people.

Do your bit to help - follow the five steps below to get involved.

1. Choose your cause

Once you’ve secured your spot in the Standard Chartered Great City Race, choose to raise money for the Standard Chartered Foundation or another or cause you’re passionate about. This way you can connect with would-be donors and explain how your fundraising will help the charity.

2. Set up a fundraising page

Take your fundraising efforts to the worldwide web and set up an online giving page. Here you can add a profile photo, tell everyone your story, why you’re running for your chosen charity, and state your fundraising target.

3. Get social

Post regularly about your training progress and fundraising efforts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok and make sure you link to your fundraising page.

4. Be creative

From raffles and auctions to bake sales and coffee mornings, there is no shortage of ways to give your fundraising a boost. Fundraisers have also put on pub quizzes and curry nights in the past – don't be afraid to reach out to companies and business owners for help with prizes.

5. The final push

Ramp up your fundraising efforts in the final days before the race and make sure you’ve reached out to as many people as possible. Don’t forget to post about your race after the event – you could bring in some extra donations that take you beyond your target...
