The 2026 Vitality Westminster Mile set for pyjama drama in Guinness World Records title bid
The 2026 Vitality Westminster Mile is bidding to enter the Guinness World Records book once again.
This year, Vitality’s Westminster Mile on Saturday 26 September, will bid to set a new Guinness World Records title for the most people wearing pyjamas to complete the same one-mile run, having broken the record for the most people dressed as superheroes to complete the same one-mile run, in 2025.
Anyone, of any age or ability, can join the record-breaking attempt which will be held as one of a series of waves at the Vitality Westminster Mile. The event takes place on an iconic course that starts on The Mall, loops around St James’s Park and finishes in front of Buckingham Palace.
Participants can run, jog, walk or wheel in pyjamas of their choice, whether that is in matching family outfits, classic flannel sets or character-inspired onesies.
You can enter the Vitality Westminster Mile Pyjama Party Wave on Let's Do This. It will start at 13:05 from The Mall.
Elaine Rayner, Event Lead for the Vitality Westminster Mile, said: “Last year we had the unique sight of hundreds of superheroes finishing the Vitality Westminster Mile in front of Buckingham Palace to break a Guinness World Record. We wanted to create something just as memorable in 2026 and a pyjama party on The Mall is just that, so sign up now, get your favourite pyjamas ready and come and help us set a new Guinness World Record.”
