FAQs

Everything you need to know.

What is Friday Night Lights?

Friday Night Lights is a high-energy, music-led social run that takes place on Friday evenings. It’s not a race, a traditional running club or a coached session – it’s a community event built around running, music, lights and good vibes. Think of it as a Friday night party… but you’re running.

What pace do people run?

While it varies slightly by event, many runs tend to sit around a steady social pace (roughly 6:00-6:30min/km). It’s not a sprint, but it’s also not a slow jog.

Is it a closed road route?

There will be a group briefing and organisers leading the run. However, it’s not a closed road race; you’re still responsible for road awareness and personal safety.

I can no longer take part. What do I do?

We understand that circumstances can change, so if you're no longer able to take part, there’s no need to let us know – and there’s nothing more you need to do.

What time does it start?

The event village is open from 18:00, with the first wave going off at 19:45.

Where is the Start Line?

The Event Village is in Battersea Park ///roses.paying.still, with the start/finish line on Carriage Drive West ///miles.flies.noises.

Will there be a bag drop?

There is a bag-drop facility at this Event ///went.value.covers. Look out for the numbered signage that corresponds with your bib number. Bag size cannot exceed the following dimensions: 50cm high x 30cm wide x 20cm deep. Bags are subject to security checks at drop-off.

Is there water on the route?

There is no water on the route. All finishers will receive a bottle of Buxton water after they cross the finish line. There is a water refill station at ///shadow.hooked.fend. We would advise you also bring a refillable water bottle with you.

Will there be toilets?

Yes there are plenty of toilets within the Event Village, including men’s urinals and accessible toilets.

Is there a cut-off time?

Yes, we have a cut-off of 1h 10 mins, which is 14min/km.

Where do I pick up my Event Pack for the 5K event?

TCS London Marathon & Friday Night Lights Event Packs for UK participants will be posted before 16 April. This is only for the 5K event.

TCS London Marathon & Friday Night Lights Event Packs for international participants MUST be collected from the TCS London Marathon Running Show. Please don’t forget to bring ID.

(The Running Show is where all participants in the TCS London Marathon must collect their Event Packs for the mass Marathon event.)

If you are from the UK and participating in both the 5K and Marathon distance events, your 5K pack will be posted to you, but you must still attend the Running Show to collect your TCS London Marathon Event Pack.
