The Vitality London 10,000 goes virtual this year with runners across the UK invited to sign up to run 10K from home on the route of their choice during the October half-term period – Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2020.
In 2025 the Vitality London 10,000 will showcase the rise in the number of female runners in the UK. Here we will tell some of the stories of those who have been inspired to take on the challenge of running 10K.
The Bath Half and CoppaFeel! are really excited to have Dermot O’Leary back running the Bath Half for Team Boobs after taking part with pal & fellow patron of the charity, Greg James back in 2013 and for the first time in 2012.
Paul Pollock is a well-established and extremely experienced long-distance runner who has competed on the highest stage in sport, the 2016 Rio Olympics. The 33-year-old balances his running career with his other life as an emergency medicine doctor in the NHS.
Just ten months after their wedding, Sean Scanlon’s wife, Zoe, was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 30. Now Sean is running for Zoe, for Prevent Breast Cancer, and for every young woman whose life might one day be saved by earlier breast cancer detection.
Ten marathons in, this one means the most to Lauren. She’s running in memory of her mother, Liz, who lived with scleroderma for five years. Now, she’s taking on the TCS London Marathon for Scleroderma & Raynaud’s UK (SRUK), helping the charity deepen understanding of the condition.
